The process paragraph
The process
paragraph describes how to do something: how to buy a house, how to get visa,
how to perform an experiment…. The process paragraphs are organized in
chronological order that is according to time.
When you write a process paragraph:
- Choose a
suitable subject. It must be narrow enough to be described in detail.
-Give complete
details in the proper order.
-Define special
terms if necessary.
-Give reasons
for the order if appropriate.
-Include
negative directions if necessary.
Transitional Expressions:
Beginning
a Process: (at)
first, initially, begin by.
Continuing
the Process: second, third step, until, after (ward), then,
next later, before, when, while, as soon as, as, upon, during, meanwhile.
Ending a
Process: Finally,
at least.
