The Present Simple
The English verb system has three aspects: simple; continuous and perfect. These aspects refer to how the speaker sees the situation or events.
We usually use the simple verb forms to talk about things that are repeated, permanent or completed.
1 1- Form
Affirmative Negative Interrogative
I/you +verb (inf) -I/you do+not+verb(inf) -Do I/you
He/she/it+Verb+S -He/she/it+does+not+V(inf) -He/she/it+does
We/they+verb(inf) -We/they+do+not+V(inf) -doWe/they
2-Use
The simple present: is used to express different situations.
-Remember the Simple present is not used to express actions happening now.
A- For Habit:
-He smokes after lunch.
B-For repeated actions or events:
- They go to the cinema every week.
C-For general truth:
-Windows are made of glass
-Windows are made of glass
E-For fix arriving:
- The train to Casablanca lives at 2:00 Pm.
F-With the future expressions:
-I will give it to her when she arrives
ADVERB PLACEMENT:
The examples below show the placement for grammar adverbs such as: always, only, never, ever, still, just, etc.
Examples:
- You only speak French.
- Do you only speak French?
